BCC and Beautycorn: A Blossoming Identity

Creating a Unique Design Inspired by Flowers

BCC, a hair beauty company and cooperative, has unveiled its new identity, Beautycorn, designed by Ki-Seok Nam. This innovative design draws inspiration from flowers to capture the essence of cooperation and prosperity, while also appealing to the brand's main customers, women.

The symbol mark of Beautycorn is a stunning representation of blooming flowers, symbolizing the spirit of collaboration and growth. This visually captivating design aims to convey the brand's commitment to working together and achieving success. The brand logo, Beautycorn, is a clever combination of the words "beauty" and "unicorn," further reinforcing the brand's unique identity and visually connecting it to the symbol mark.

What sets this design apart is its meticulous attention to detail and adherence to the golden ratio. By incorporating this mathematical principle, the symbol mark, brand logo, and graphic identity achieve a harmonious and visually pleasing composition.

The realization of this design was made possible through the use of Adobe Illustrator, allowing the designer, Ki-Seok Nam, to work with precision and create a vector-based design. The result is a design that is not only visually striking but also versatile and scalable for various applications.

Beautycorn's graphic patterns play a crucial role in forming the brand's visual identity across its products and prints. These patterns add a touch of elegance and sophistication to the brand, further enhancing its appeal to its target audience.

The design project for Beautycorn began in March 2020 and was completed in May 2020 in Daejeon, Korea. Throughout the project, the designer focused on maintaining consistency in the design, ensuring that the symbol mark and brand logo were visually connected, as requested by the client.

One of the main challenges faced during the design process was to create a design that would resonate with BCC's female customers and reflect their values. By incorporating flowers into the symbol mark and infusing the brand with the concept of cooperation and prosperity, the design successfully captures the essence of beauty and growth that BCC aims to deliver to its customers.

The exceptional design of Beautycorn has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category in 2021. This prestigious award acknowledges the well-designed, practical, and innovative nature of the design, meeting professional and industrial requirements. The design's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contributes to a better world, providing fulfillment and positive feelings to its audience.

With its captivating floral-inspired design and commitment to collaboration, Beautycorn's new identity is set to make a lasting impression in the beauty industry, appealing to women and symbolizing the brand's dedication to growth and success.
